1. You have to be a current CED-IADR member.
2. Apply to the yearly CED-IADR Robert Frank Award Competition at a CED/PER-IADR meeting.
3. You must be a CED-IADR Robert Frank Award Competition winner.
4. You must be selected by the CED-IADR committee jury of the 'Robert Frank Award Winners' in order to represent the CED-IADR at “IADR Hatton Competition & Award” at the upcoming IADR Meeting.

NOTE: You cannot apply directly for the ‘IADR Hatton Competition’.

Once you are selected by the CED-IADR Robert Frank committee jury to represent the CED-IADR at “IADR Hatton Competition & Award” at the upcoming IADR Meeting you MUST submit an abstract and biosketch form via the IADR Meeting Abstract Submission site to the IADR Global Headquarters by the abstract deadline date. 

The abstract you submit should be the same research project (as the CED-IADR Robert Frank competition that you have won) but new developments or new co-authors, may be updated for the "IADR Unilever Hatton Competition & Award” for the upcoming IADR Meeting.

Presentation:

Candidates will present their research in an oral presentation format (up to 10 minutes verbal presentation, and a question-and-answer period not to exceed 5 minutes). English language facility should not be a factor when the work is judged; however, the ability to communicate effectively with the reviewers is desirable. Competitors will be present during the judging to present their research and answer any questions the judges may have. Hatton competitors will be scheduled a second time to present their science to the general public in a poster presentation. Detailed instructions regarding the oral and poster presentations will be sent to all competitors.  Entries in the three categories will be judged separately. 

Judging Criteria:

In judging, the IADR Awards Review Committee will weigh participation as follows: 40% for verbal presentation, 30% for question-and-answer period, and 30% for scientific merit. 

The following will be considered: 

1. originality and design of the investigation;
2. quality of the data produced;
3. suitability of the methods of analysis used;
4. scientific value of the work;
5. quality of the poster presentation;
6. demonstrated mastery of the subject.

From the CED-IADR 'Robert Frank Award Winners', 3 winners were selected by the jury to represent CED-IADR at the IADR Hatton Award Competition during the next General Session & Exhibition of IADR 2024 IADR/AADOCR/CADR General Session in New Orleans, LA, USA in March 2024
